Independent Energy Advisory · Delaware & the Mid-Atlantic

Energy decisions, backed by numbers — not guesswork.

We're an advisory firm, not a utility. Best Energy Consultant helps commercial and industrial facilities find out where the energy is going, what it actually costs, and exactly what to fix first — with a clear ROI attached to every recommendation.

Advisory & consulting only — we don't sell power, equipment, or installation.

Who We Are

A consulting firm that sells only one thing: clarity.

We're a team of energy engineers and efficiency advisors based in Lewes, Delaware. For the past decade we've walked facility floors, pulled 24 months of utility data, and built savings roadmaps for commercial, industrial, and mixed-use buildings across the region.

Our work answers one question: what should this facility do next, and what will it actually save? No equipment pitches, no commission-driven vendor lists — just the analysis, in plain English, that lets you make a confident decision.

  • Independent and vendor-neutral — we don't earn a commission on anything we recommend
  • Data-driven: interval data, metering, and bill analysis — not rule-of-thumb estimates
  • Every engagement is led by a senior advisor, and every fee is quoted in writing before work begins

What We Do

Six ways we help your facility spend less

Every engagement is scoped around your bills, your meters, and your goals — not a one-size-fits-all checklist.

Energy Audits & Assessment

A structured walk-through with metering, 12–24 months of bill analysis, and load profiling. You get a prioritized list of findings — ranked by savings, not by what's easiest to sell.

  • Walk-through audit & load profile
  • Utility bill & interval data review
  • Prioritized findings report

Energy Efficiency Strategy

A realistic roadmap for lighting, HVAC, motors, and controls — phased to match your cash flow, with measure-by-measure payback and a sequencing plan your maintenance team can follow.

  • Phased upgrade roadmap
  • Measure-by-measure payback
  • Budget & capital planning input

Feasibility & ROI Studies

Detailed analysis before you commit capital: LED retrofits, HVAC upgrades, EV charging, and demand management — with payback, financing options, and honest go/no-go guidance.

  • Engineering-grade feasibility
  • Financing & ESCO structure review
  • Go / no-go recommendation

Power Quality & Demand Management

Demand charges quietly eat budgets. We review your peak demand, power factor, and rate structure — then design peak-shaving and demand-reduction strategies that lower the bill line by line.

  • Demand-charge reduction plan
  • Power factor correction review
  • Rate & rider structure advice

Compliance & Standards Support

The paperwork side of energy: documentation for efficiency and code compliance, utility rebate and incentive applications, and reporting baselines that keep you audit-ready.

  • Rebate & incentive applications
  • Compliance documentation
  • Reporting baselines & tracking

Ongoing Advisory & Training

A standing advisory relationship: quarterly bill reviews, staff and facility-manager training, vendor bid evaluation, and a senior advisor you can call when a decision needs a second opinion.

  • Quarterly utility bill reviews
  • Staff & operations training
  • Vendor bid evaluation

Scope of work: All services are advisory. We prepare the analysis, specifications, and scope of work — installation and construction are carried out by licensed contractors of your choice. We are not a utility and we do not supply electricity.

How We Work

From first call to verified savings

A clear four-step process. You'll always know what's happening, what it costs, and what you're getting.

  1. 01

    Discovery Call

A free 30-minute conversation about your facility, your bills, and what you're trying to reduce. If we don't see a meaningful opportunity, we'll tell you straight.

  2. 02

    On-Site Assessment

A senior advisor walks the facility, reviews your meters, and pulls 12–24 months of bill and interval data. Most assessments are done in a single visit.

  3. 03

    Report & Roadmap

You receive a plain-English report: findings ranked by savings, payback, and risk — plus a phased roadmap you can take to your finance team or board.

  4. 04

    Implementation Support

We help you scope contractor bids, answer questions during execution, and verify savings once the work is complete. The relationship doesn't end at the report.

We are an advisor, not a utility.

Best Energy Consultant is an independent advisory and consulting firm. We do not generate, transmit, distribute, resell, or supply electricity, and we are not a licensed electrical contractor. Our clients keep their existing utility and supplier — we simply help them use energy smarter.

Common Questions

Before you call — things people ask us

No. We're a consulting and advisory firm. We don't generate, distribute, resell, or supply electricity, and we don't bill customers for power. Your facility keeps its existing utility and supplier throughout our engagement.

No. We deliver the analysis, specifications, and scope of work. Installation is performed by appropriately licensed contractors of your choice — we can help you evaluate their bids, but we never perform or subcontract the construction work ourselves.

The first 30-minute discovery call is free — and it's a real conversation. If we don't see a meaningful opportunity for your facility, we'll say so. Fees for audits and studies are quoted in writing, based on scope, before any work begins.

Ideally: 12–24 months of utility bills (PDF is fine), your meter ID numbers, the building's square footage and program, and your goals. If you don't have all of that, tell us what you have — we'll guide you on what to request from your facility manager or utility.

Our office is in Lewes, Delaware, and we walk most sites in person in Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey. Bill and data audits can be completed remotely for facilities anywhere in the United States.
